The LGiLab is composed of passionate, dedicated men and women that are familiar with the challenge of setting up a new business and that understand and know the Internet industry and activity.
Gemini’s Danny Cohen and Tali Aben together with Lightspeed’s Jake Seid and Ravi Mhatre led the initiative from within the funds.  Each have relevant operational expertise, and experience with Internet companies and investments. In order to augment the ability of the Lab to source and support top Internet deals, Gemini and Lightspeed have brought on two Internet industry veterans, Ouriel Ohayon as General Manager. Dan Ciporin serves as advisor to the Internet Lab

Ouriel Ohayon - LgiLab General Manager
Ouriel Ohayon will join the Lab as a full-time employee, taking control of sourcing deals and offering operational support to companies in the Lab.  He has over ten years of experience in the Internet industry and international consumer and retail marketing, both at multinational companies, such as Reckitt Benckizer and Danone group, and as an entrepreneur.  After the acquisition of an Internet company he founded, Mr. Ohayon joined ICQ (an AOL company) in Israel as the director of sales and partnership.  He was then promoted to regional business director for Europe and Asia.  Mr. Ohayon is also known as an active Internet/Web 2.0 opinion leader, serving as one of the main contributors of TechCrunch.com and editor of its French version TechCrunch.fr, two of the leading blogs on new Internet startups.
Ouriel has graduated from HEC school of Management (Paris) and earned a Master at ESADE (Spain)


Yoni Cheifetz - LightSpeed Venture Patners - Israel Partner
Yoni has close to four years of venture capital experience and over sixteen years of operating & entrepreneurial experience. Prior to joining Lightspeed Venture Partners, Yoni was a partner with Star Ventures a leading Israeli venture capital fund, investing in Aeroscout, Kabira, Mercado, Sandlinks, Sheer Networks (acq. by Cisco) and Teneros. Before joining Star Ventures, Yoni was an entrepreneur for many years serving as founder, CEO, Chairman and investor in several software companies, including: Demantra (acq. by Baan and Oracle), Agentics (acq. by Mercado), Earnix, Traiana and others.
Previously, Yoni ran product mgmt. and bus. dev. for Click Software [CKSW]. He holds a M.Sc. in Math & Computer Science. from the Weizmann Inst. of Science and a B.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from the Tel-Aviv University.


Daniel Cohen – Gemini Israel Funds - Partner
Daniel Cohen is a Partner at Gemini, specializing in Internet and enterprise software investments. Previously, Danny was a Principal at Gemini, responsible for the Fund’s deal flow and deal sourcing process. He has participated in the investment process of over a dozen Gemini companies, including Business Events, Allot, TriSixty and Mirage Innovations. Recently he has taken on the responsibility for Gemini’s Internet strategy, and led the investment in Gemini’s first Internet company, eSnips. He sits on the eSnips Board. Danny began his career as a software engineer at Scitex and was later hired by Sagitta as a software group leader. He moved from development to product management at Sagitta and assumed responsibility for the product management team. In 2000, Danny joined the strategic marketing department at Commtouch and was promoted to Sr. Director of Product Marketing after a short time at the company. Danny has a BA in computer science and psychology from Tel-Aviv University and an MBA from INSEAD


Ravi Mhatre - LightSpeed Venture Patners -  General Partner
Ravi is a founding partner of Lightspeed Venture Partners, and primarily focuses on Internet and software investments. He has ten years of venture capital experience and six years of operating experience. Before joining Weiss, Peck & Greer Venture Partners in 1999, Ravi was with Bessemer Venture Partners, and invested in NetGenesis Software [NTGX], Verio [VRIO], VIA-Networks [VNWI], Webspective Software (acquired by Inktomi) and InCert Software (acquired by Geodesic). Previously, Ravi ran market development efforts for the engineering workstation division of Silicon Graphics, and also worked at Lehman Brothers and Booz Allen Hamilton. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering, an AB in Economics, and an MBA from Stanford University.


Tali Aben – Gemini Israel Funds – General Partner
Tali Aben joined Gemini in 1994 and was the first woman partner in an Israeli VC. She focuses on Enterprise Software and Data Security and represents Gemini on the board of several private companies. She also sits on the board of Verisity (NASDASQ:VRST), a former Gemini portfolio company which was the best performing IPO on NASDAQ in 2001. Tali is based in California where she manages Gemini's Silicon Valley operation, which she opened in 2000. Tali joined Gemini in 1994 from RadView (NASDAQ:RDVW), then a start-up software company and a member of the Rad group, where she served as Marketing Director. Prior to joining RadView, Tali was Senior Product Marketing Manager at SunSoft Inc. (NASDAQ:SUNW) in Mountain View, CA, where she managed several software development product lines, including compilers, SDK's and Graphical User Interface design tools.
From 1990 - 1992, Tali served as Marketing Director for Mercury Interactive Corporation (NASDAQ: MERQ), then a start-up company, where she established the company's U.S. Sales and Marketing organization.
From 1984-1990, Tali held Software Engineering positions at Scitex Corporation and Aitech Systems. She holds a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science and an MBA, both from Tel Aviv University. Tali is a prominent speaker at Private Equity events both in the US and in Israel.


Jake Seid – LightSpeed Venture Patners - General Partner
Jake focuses on investments in systems, components and software. Prior to Lightspeed, Jake was a product line manager for Cisco Systems. He was responsible for launching and managing the industry's first DOCSIS-based cable modems and routers and led his product to win "Best of Show" and "Best Networking Hardware" at Comdex. Previously, he worked in business development for Boston Technology (Comverse) in Tokyo. Jake serves on the Venture Capital Advisory Board for the Fabless Semiconductor Association. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and a M. Eng. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT. At MIT, he earned the Karl Taylor Compton Prize, the highest honor given to an MIT student.


Dan Ciporin - LgiLab Advisor
Dan Ciporin is the former chairman and CEO of Shopping.com (formerly DealTime), a leading online comparison shopping service that helps consumers make informed purchase decisions by comparing products, prices and stores across the Web. Mr. Ciporin guided the company’s strategic direction, leading Shopping.com to become one of the most successful Israeli Internet companies. In 2004, Shopping.com completed a public offering on NASDAQ and was subsequently acquired by eBay for $620 million. As chairman, Mr. Ciporin will be allocating part of his time to help define strategy for Lab companies.
He earned his AB degree at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs from Princeton University and his MBA degree at the Yale University School of Management
